Link Types: Although you will see options in the drop-down field for “E-mail” and “Link to anchor in text,” don’t use these options. The “E-mail” option is not useful because it makes an assumption that the person who clicks this link will have an email client (such as Outlook) actually installed to the com- puter they are using. The “Link to anchor in text” is only for anchor links with- in a page, which are very rarely used by client libraries. Target and Advanced tabs: These should not be used. It is very poor prac- tice nowadays to open links in new tabs or windows; it removes control from the user and is very bad for usability. The “Advanced” options are not appli- cable to your site.
