We have completed uploading the data that the State Library collected from libraries last winter into the OPLIN Data Center. Any data submitted to the State Library after May 18 was not included in the update.

Last year, the Public Library Data Center replaced the annual OPLIN Connectivity Survey for gathering library data, and so a brief explanation of the OPLIN Data Center is probably in order. OPLIN no longer asks libraries to fill out a "Connectivity Survey" each year, and instead, we get a copy of some of the data that you submit in response to the State Library's required survey. However, that survey does not include data about your branch connectivity and some other items, so we ask that each director (or deputy) login to http://www.oplin.org/datacenter/ and keep that information up to date. (Tip: if you record changes as they happen in the Data Center, you can use it as a reference when you fill out the State Library survey.)

 

We plan to publish this data by September 1 at http://www.oplin.org/content/ohio-public-library-connectivity-data, and we need all the libraries that have not done so to update their information, especially with all the recent staff and technology changes. We refer organizations asking for information about public library connectivity to this page, in an effort to keep them from asking you to fill out even more surveys.

The Data Center login username is the director’s email address, but this information might not be updated with the recent director changes. If you are a new director and do not have the login credentials, please contact OPLIN Support (http://support.oplin.org) so that we can change your username and send you a new password. We only assign passwords to director accounts, so that they are aware when anyone is editing the library's data.
