As Ohio public libraries get more deeply involved in digitizing local collections and making them available on the Internet, OPLIN has been participating in this activity and providing support where possible.
OPLIN was a major financial contributor to the Digitization Hubs project. This project continues, and is evolving into a component of the broader DPLA in Ohio project, which also receives some funding from OPLIN. The OPLIN Director has also been directly involved in the planning and leadership of these projects.
As part of the DPLA in Ohio project, the steering committee conducted a survey of Ohio’s libraries, museums, historical societies, and archives to identify the current digital activities being undertaken by Ohio’s cultural heritage organizations.
